What is IZUCHI
IZUCHI is an organization dedicated to guiding people along the path of reclaiming choice and freedom in their lives. We do this by providing clarity and confidence through holistic financial education because we understand that control over your finances provides a path to freedom. Our name is a phrase in the West African language, Igbo, that means “divine counsel” or guidance. While we do focus on finances, we understand that money affects every area of our lives. So, we incorporate areas like identity, relationships, physical health, and psychology into our philosophy.
Your Growth Buddie
Hello! I’m so glad you decided to take a step toward more choice and freedom in your life. This journey is going to grow you in many ways and with me and many others walking beside you, it will be that much more impactful.
Who Am I
I’m Urenna Chimso, or Ure (oo-ray) for short, a 1.5 generation Igbo-American and I am the founder of IZUCHI. I am a student of Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship at Duke University, a licensed investment advisor, an author, and a real estate and stock investor. Primarily, I am a child of God, older sister/cousin, and friend to many who loves to dance, think, eat, learn, relate, and rollerskate amongst many other things. I started this company in 2021 as a college freshman out of my own personal freedom journey. I am passionate about holistic freedom — financial, relational, mental, spiritual, physical — for myself and for others. My life, aspirations, and relationships are marked by a zealous pursuit of freedom and I hope to encourage you to do the same.
What's My Story
I encountered personal finance while trying to choose a career because I was only concerned with two things: how much money I would make; and how much free time I would have. My dad helped me realize that I was not looking for a career but for financial freedom and that the best way to achieve it would be through financial literacy. I quickly became passionate about sharing what I was learning with others and bringing them along the same journey I was taking. As I tried to educate others and myself, I became more and more discouraged because the minute I learned something, I realized there were about ten other things that I didnāt know I didnāt know; you know the saying āyou donāt know what you donāt know.ā Also, online information about finances is very incohesive and full of peopleās opinions and get-rich-quick schemes, which I fell prey to. On top of being financially illiterate, a lack of relationships to support me on this journey, limiting mindsets and habits I had developed around money, and struggles with discipline and motivation also hindered my progress. My financial state reflected the fact that there are many aspects to financial health that I had not previously considered.
Once I became licensed and had all the relevant information, got connected to people that are invested in my growth, and shifted my habits and mindsets, I saw a drastic shift in my financial life. I was able to write my book, Design Your Dream Life, buy my first rental property, develop my own LLC, and build this organization by taking a holistic approach to personal finances. My relationships also got stronger, I developed more mental fortitude, I became more active and more attentive to my health, and I grew spiritually.
I have experienced so much growth and freedom in the last few years and I know there’s still so much more for me to experience. Growth and freedom are holistic lifestyles that we’ll always be unlocking new levels of.
